Rhino Racking is the perfect solution to getting your storage sorted, and we are here to try to make the whole process as easy as possible. Our shelving and racking are carefully manufactured to be as simple and easy as possible to build, making your organisation as easy as it can possibly be.
Building your shelving should always be as hassle-free as possible, as they are boltless and don’t require any nuts, bolts or tools (just a small rubber mallet if needed). This guide is going to explain exactly how to build your racking, to make it as easy as possible for you. No matter the size or colour of your shelving and racking, they can all be built the same way (however the bigger units may need some extra parts). You can also find all assembly instructions here and look through these in your own time. The instructions also explain exactly which parts you need before you get started.
Where to begin
Begin by getting out your instruction booklet (this is usually hidden between the MDF boards), and ensuring you have all labelled parts with you. You may want to lay these out on the floor, in order, to make the assembly process as easy as possible. On the rare occasion that there are missing or damaged parts, make sure to contact us immediately to sort this.
You will need:
- 8x upright
- 10x side beam
- 10x front/back beam
- 4x upright connector
- 5 or 10x beam tie (depending on size)
- 8x feet
- 5x MDF board
Now let’s start assembling…
Assembly
Step 1:
You want to begin with two uprights and attach the feet onto the bottom of these. You will then need to grab your upright connector and begin to connect the two uprights together (using your rubber mallet if needed).
Step 2:
You now want to inside the short side beam into the upright into your required level and knock into place with a rubber mallet. You can join the other end into the side beam (on the same height). For this step you may want to ask someone else to hold the frame for you whilst you secure it. Continue this with all side beams on your preferred heights until all are connected – then repeat these steps for the second frame.t
Step 3:
Now it’s time to add the long front and back beams to the uprights at the same height as your lowest side beams (and use your mallet to secure these). Continue to do this on both sides and then attach it to the other frame. Now add all front and back beams up the unit.
Step 4:
You can begin to add your beam ties into place, and these will loop into the insides of the front and back beams.
Top tip: ensure the beam ties are used on each level and that the tabs are fully bent to ensure security.
Step 5:
Now begin to add your MDF boards to each level, and these should easily slot into place on top of the beam ties. You may want to use the bay connectors to connect multiple units together if needed.
Now your shelving and racking is complete, and you can begin to add your items and get organised!
House keeping
It’s important to remember that your shelving and racking holds up to 200kg of evenly distributed weight per shelf, and you should not overload this, as the unit may break, or the boards may warp or snap. It is also important not to store the shelving in damp or humid environments as this may effect the boards, but if you do store them in these environments, make sure to seal the MDF with paint or varnish to protect the boards.
You can use your shelving in any way you please, whether that be in your home, garage or workplace, as Rhino Racking has no limits. We do have a range of colours and sizes to choose from when shopping, and you can shop all the ranges here. You can finally be organised with the help of our shelving, and we even offer free delivery just for you!
