5 Tasks for a Productive Summer Bank Holiday

5 Tasks for a Productive Summer Bank Holiday

August bank holiday is on the horizon, and this is the perfect opportunity to get organised before the new season approaches. Bank holidays are a great opportunity to finally do any jobs you may have been putting off for a while, like organising the garage, having a deep clean of the house or de-cluttering all of your items. Any DIY jobs you may have around the house can finally be completed this weekend, and hopefully the weather is sunny whilst you do so.

So we have created 5 key tasks for you to complete this weekend for the Bank Holiday, and some tips to help you get it all done as fast and efficiently as possible.

  1. Have a deep clean of the whole house

Finally doing a deep clean of your whole house will make cleaning 10x easier for the next few months. This is the perfect time to really start from scratch, cleaning all of the surfaces, walls and even carpets. Grab your favourite mop and your hoover and begin to deep clean each room in your home. We always advise starting with the bigger rooms (such as your living room or kitchen) and then begin to work on the smaller rooms in the house.

Our favourite cleaning essentials include soapy water, a toothbrush (to get to those smaller surfaces), microfiber cloth, amazing smelling cleaning solution, shaving foam, a really good hoover and your favourite mop.

  1. De-clutter all unused items

Getting rid of any clutter can reduce up to 40% of tasks within an average home, so why not get your bin bags and start de-cluttering now!

This is a task we all put off doing, but it is one that is extremely important, as not only can it make your home look more organised, but it can keep your home organised for longer. We all have a build up of clutter, and items that haven’t been used in years, and it can save your home so much space by getting rid of these items.

De-cluttering can be made easy when you place your items into three sections; keep, bin and give to charity. Grab your bin bags and begin to place your items in order of whether you want to bin them or give them to charity, and finally your home will feel more spacious.

  1. Organise the garage

This weekend is the perfect time to organise the garage, and once step 1 and 2 have been completed, this step should be a walk in the park. Organising the garage can be made easy when you use the right storage solutions, and here at Rhino, we have the perfect storage solutions for you. We have a wide range of garage shelving, both MDF and wire, to suit all of your storage needs.

Whether you need wide, slim or extra-deep, we have all the sizes to fit any garage. We also offer a range of colours (black, blue or galvanised) so you can choose the best shelving to suit your garage.

  1. Organise your belongings

The best way to organise your belongings in your home is with the right storage solutions. We offer amazing wire shelving which is perfect for organising your home. Its sleek, black finish looks stylish in your home, whilst organising even some of your heaviest items. Our wire shelving holds up to 200kg per shelf, meaning even your heaviest items in your home can be stored away. The wire units are also extremely easy to clean, and only involve wiping down any dust due to the steel material.

Whether you need a new shoe rack, kitchen pantry, wardrobe organiser or unit for your living room. The wire shelving range is perfect for keeping your items stored away safely. Building your new unit can be your DIY task for the bank holiday weekend.

  1. Create a schedule

To finish off, create a schedule for the upcoming months to ensure your home and garage stay organised through the winter. Set yourself weekly and monthly goals to ensure your home is always looking flawless. If you have completed the first four steps, then organisation should be easy for you in the upcoming winter months.

Having a monthly and weekly schedule is the best way to set clear goals for yourself to be sure you stay as productive as possible through the winter months (when productivity usually dips).
